Our Mission

About us BACKGROUND: The Center for Educational Equity (CEE) is an amazing non-profit organization founded in June 2000, after a series of articles in the Greenville News spotlighted the shameful gaps between students.

MISSION: Our mission is to provide opportunities for at-risk students and young adults to benefit from success-oriented programs and experiences. Our opportunities are especially designed to boost and transform their learning and behavior, to reduce school disciplinary referrals, improve school attendance, school grades and graduation rates, enrollment in college and local vocational training programs and to promote greater parental involvement.

FOUNDERS: CEE was founded by Coach Shakir Robinson, a championship sports coach and certified Personal Fitness Trainer; Leola Robinson-Simpson, a former Greenville County School Board Trustee and current member of the S.C. House of Representatives; with the support of a diverse CEE Advisory Board and dedicated volunteers.
